• The Theme Creator, your tool for building a branded web page featuring your content. Use this customized space to share videos, images, links, social info, and attachments. This is your branded landing page, wrapped with your logo, backgrounds, and imagery.

• Address book–upload your contacts in a couple of clicks and easily send them video emails. Group your contacts for effective video email campaigns. (Just make sure to create the group first, then upload your contacts into the right group.)

• Two options for analytics: basic analytics built-in and Google Analytics integrated into our Theme Creator. Just add your Google Analytics ID to your theme. When you login to Google Analytics, you will see your OpenMyVideo traffic and visitors. Use analytics to track the effectiveness of your campaigns.

A Few Final Notes

Mobile video – first off, it’s complicated. We encode (fancy word for format) for iPad, iPhone, Blackberry, Android, and all types of browsers. Our iPhone app works best when you send videos that have been previously recorded to your video/photo gallery. We offer a record “on-the-fly” option, but many different factors can affect upload. We’d rather you film with the standard camera application that comes with the iPhone and use our application to send your video. Frankly, mobile and wi-fi networks can time-out, calls can get dropped–things can be beyond our control. But if you record with the standard camera app, you will save a video locally that you can send using OMV when you’re ready!

Green AND guiltfree way to get that new iphone

The new iphone 3GS has been tempting you with all of its apps and cool features like video messaging hasn’t it?  I wrestled for weeks trying to justify letting go of my perfectly good blackberry (we’d been together for years), paying the fee to cancel mid-contract with my service provider, and then biting the $199 bullet (complete with obligatory 2 year AT&T contract of course) to get my hands on that shiny, perfect phone.  When all was said and done, it was worth it.   I LOVE my new iphone.

Kids and Technology

When I was a kid, this time of the year was all about strategic planning. The Sears catalog would arrive in the mail and the whole back half of that enormous book was filled with TOYS…page after page of toys. I would turn down the page corners and circle the must-have items.

Today, there’s no longer a Sears catalog—at least not like the one I remember. Technology is able to reach children in ways that I had never imagined.  Video, moving images, games, and sounds are only a slide way on the iPhone.
